Heathfield is located near the junction of the A267 Tunbridge Wells to Eastbourne and A265 Hawkhurst roads. It lies approximately half way between Eastbourne and Tunbridge Wells. Between 1880 and 1968, it was also served by a the Cuckoo Line railway, running between Eridge and Polegate. The trackbed of the old railway now forms the Cuckoo Trail, a multi-use recreational path and part of the National Cycle Network.
